Dhani's Blog
A Lesson in Cambodia
I've seen some places while working on "Dhani Tackles the Globe." We have been everywhere under the sun it seems, from Australia to Russia, Singapore to Switzerland. I mean, we have been to some places. Traveling sort of prepares you for the next port of call. Each place sets a different protocol to follow and a rhythm to expect. There are no two countries that look, smell or feel the same. It's in these variables that truly set each place apart from the next. It's what makes each place just as exciting as the first time you left the country or left your home for that matter. But there is something to be said about the adventures of Cambodia as it compares to the rest of the world
We arrive at dusk and the way the sun hits Phnom Penh causes it to glow like a brilliant sky over the pacific sea. Yet, we are in the middle of Southeast Asia (A country where formally the drug trade influenced the flow of life more then the educators and politicians). I COULD CONFIRM THIS FACT.
Proceeding down the stairs we are greeted by one officer, followed by another officer, and a third officer asked us to pay for something. Outside at the street corner a constant flow of those needing far greater than I, line the curb and await the next person who will provide them with money for survival. You see, many Cambodians hardly have anything, just the clothes off their back, maybe a motorcycle or scooter they ride to pick up travelers and locals with more then most. Some have or share a house/apartment, but sleeping outside many times is the best option. But that doesn't stop them from smiling. That doesn't stop them from being good people with enormous hearts. That doesn't stop them from giving what they may not have and being a good person. Cambodia is a beautiful country filled with beautiful people.
My perception of Cambodia was that the filth and the poverty would overwhelm me to the point I couldn't concentrate on the task at hand, Pradel Seray. I found quite the contrary. I found that the positive overwhelmed the negative. I found, what I saw through the filth and poverty were the people. The hotel, while such an oasis proved to be surrounded by an even more beautiful oasis, the city of Phnom Pehn.
So, when you land and the power of ignorance follows you to the curb, decide to leave it behind and move on from it. People who sit at home have their own judgments, see it for yourself. Cambodia is a place to be revered and explored. It's not a place to gawk and stare. The people, the smiles and the attitudes will affect you for the rest of your life.

Your sentiments are resounding...if only all people could look beyond the obvious and see the souls perhaps we would all be in a better state of mind and being. God bless you on your journeys my dear brother. Continue to do your missions work (at the end of the day what u bring to the experience makes you an ambassador for the one you serve and for the country u hail). Blessings
Wonderfully said Dhani! I couldn't agree more. As an American living in Asia, I really understand what you mean. It is a life changing experience and you will remember it forever.
Its in exploring the world and diferent cultures that you see the beauty of being human, I liked you blog... one can really feel the change that the expirience brought in you! Can't wait to see the episode.
I really appriciate how when you travel, you do so with your eyes wide open. Come see us in Morehead, Ky. sometime. catch you a P.B.S. Eq.room.
Hey Mr. Jones,
The story that i just read was beautiful. It makes you remember to not judge a book by it's cover. Sometimes you do find the most beautiful things in places you would not dream of finding them. I will be watching tonight to see it for myself. I'm sure it will be great. Sometimes i think you should have been a comedian, sometimes a wine taster =), sometimes in movies because the camera loves you, but when i read this or read your poetry, i feel that no Dhani should have been a storyteller. Your my storyteller anyway Dhani and i'm gonna keep reading. Take care Dhani Jones. CK
I can't wait to see what you are NOT going to eat, Dhani! That is one of my favorite parts, aside from sport du jour, you are so squeemish you need to leave that up to Andrew or Anthony! But watching you attempt to is so fun to see! You try, you taste, kudos for that :)
I LOVE your show!!! #1. I love the way you are YOU, no matter where you go, your personality shines. You are truly a vessel used by the most high. What I love the most is that as you share your travels with the world...people SEE how huge this world really is...and maybe JUST MAYBE you will help eliminate anyone thought of any race being superior to another. This world is WAY too big!
From...a loyal watcher :o)
Hey man, what’s with the Fidel Castro T-Shirt? With your U.M. education did you know that at least 200,000 people were executed by the communist Khmer Rouge? Seriously, did anyone in the country mention this too you as you made a fool out of yourself wearing that T-Shirt? You have to figure that a few of those folks have family members that were murdered by communists. Do you know the plight of the Cuban people? Do you know how many families have been affected by Fidel Castro's regime? I noticed you too wore a Cuba t-shirt in England. What is the fascination? Do you think that if you were a Cuban living in Cuba you can travel to London and buy a Morgan automobile and buy suits on Saville Row? I don't think so. Wise up.
I watched the show tonight for the first time and I won't watch it again!
To the question:
Cambodia Poll (found in the Home Page)
After watching the show, tell us which of the following activities you'd like to do on your visit to Cambodia:
1)Angkor Wat Temple
2)Deep-Fried Tarantulas
3)Monk visit at Phnom Penh
4)Pradal Serey
I would add a 5th option:
5)Throw Dhani (with feet tied together) to Mr Snake and see what happens!
That's the one I'd choose!
How did you throw a poor animal, scared to death and unable to move to a huge snake just for the fun of it? And on top of it you were hoping that the it would be eaten alive???!!!!
I'm sorry, you look good and everything but you don't have any compassion!
Next!
Great blog Dhani, shame I probably wont get to see the actual episode on Cambodia. I don't believe we have the Travel Channel over here.
I've lived in Sihanoukville, Cambodia for around a year and a half now, and fell in love with the Country, People and Pace of life very quickly. I can't imagine living anywhere else now.
Though have to admit, after living in Thailand, the food here did take some getting used to!
Awesome show! I especially loved that you showed Cambodia's youth, with the break dancing and the school of the arts! Lol, Pradel Serey, looks brutal and I felt really bad for that guy with the swollen eyes!
Dhani, that episode was good. You had to do some hard work that was much harder than what Mr. Pitts trained you for but in the end, it turned out really good. I actually loved the field scene. Especially the slow motion parts. It looked like how it would have looked in a movie. That fight in the gym is what i thought you guys did. You didn't seem to like that much but like you always say "NO PAIN NO GAIN". It's just getting your @#@ kicked baby! Never the less it was great television. The break dancing scene was too funny and once again you made us all laugh. I will say no one would have made me eat spiders. Hot sauce and bread or not no way. Not CK. Too excited about NewZealand next Monday. I can't wait to catch it. Take care Dhani Jones. CK
Just watched the show Dhani - loved the scene with you and the break dancing kids. And seriously, whats with the bugs? I think your producer likes to torture you by making you eat those here (and Thailand).
Keep your head up though - the show is fantastic - my all time favorite on the travel channel!
I'm glad you visited Cambodia. As a Cambodian-American, I am proud of Cambodia. It is true what you said about looking beyond the negatives and concentrate on the positives.
Dhani, I enjoy your show verymuch. You seem like a good person, but I am confused by your Castro shirt. It's a distraction from the entertainment you provide because once people see that t-shirt of Castro, they end up thinking why you wore that shirt for the rest of the show, like I did. I hope you really don't appreciate the Cuban regime.
I just watched the Cambodia episode and I was slightly disappointed to see you wearing a Fidel Castro shirt as you entered the youth dance facility. I am a real fan of the show but as a Cuban American I can't help but being a bit offended. Please put all your Cuban fans at ease and explain your wardrobe choice.
Hey Dhani,
I'm a big fan of you and your show. As a Cambodian-American, I was glad to see you visit Cambodia and see the country in a positive light. I myself have never been to Cambodia but I do wish to go visit. After watching many episodes, I've always noticed that you have a great respect for all the different countries and cultures that you've visited. For that, I'm a big fan. Keep up the great work.
I am so glad to see somebody from America go and visit my country I was born there but I came to America since I was 11 years old never went back and visit to afraid, but like I said I am glad to see someone as special as you go there the show is good keep up the good work I will keep watching you.
Take care and god bless.
Thanks for visiting my parents country!
I have been to Cambodia many times and am always amazed to see how it has changed in the past 10 years. I love your enthusiasm for visiting the country and learning about its culture and background.
There are a lot more "interesting" foods than deep-fried tatrantula. I don't necessarily think it's a "local favorite" per se. Listening to Cambodian rap totally made me laugh as well. Thanks for making the episode entertaining to those who understand what the people are saying.
Btw. 2 chickens for $20, you totally got ripped off.
Dhani, very well written. I totally feel you on seeing past the poverty and the filth and connecting with the people. My family left the country when I was a mere 2 months old and I only just recently visited 3 years ago, 25 years after I left. I was really intrigued that with all that the people in the country had been through, the smiling faces led you to believe that there was hope. I'm hoping that you were able to visit Angkor Wat while you were out there. Keep up the good work. I'm a new fan!
It's a shame you like wearing a T-shirt that reads Fidel Castro and think nothing of it, ignorance is bliss. Starting today I'll wear my Abraham Lincoln T-shirt everywhere I can.
My wife told me how much she loved your show. So I watched. You were in Cambodia. It was very interesting and I was enjoying it until a scene where I saw you wearing a castro Tee shirt. (lower case deliberate) with the name fidel and the number 59 on the back. Sir do you know what that t-shirt means? Do have any idea what this EVIL monster fidel castro is responsable for? My guess is you do not. At least I hope you are only ignorant to this monsters pain he has brought to the people of Cuba. To me this is nothing less than wearing a swastika and a picture of adolf hitler on a shirt. Sir I think you should apologize to the Cuban people and never again promote such a thing as a dictator like castro again. I am appalled at this and will never watch your show again.
Rick in Miami, I just read your post and I agree with you 100%.
Donnie, Danny or how ever you pronounce your name, how DARE YOU!? You're in Cambodia and you promote the MURDER of hundreds of thousands of innocent people? You promote a MONSTER like Fidel Castro?
Rick asks: "Do you know how many families have been affected by Fidel Castro's regime?" As PROUD AMERICAN and former Miami resident I can tell you sir it's in the millions. That t-shirt is disgusting!!!!
Rick asks: "Do you think that if you were a Cuban living in Cuba you can travel to London and buy a Morgan automobile and buy suits on Saville Row? I don't think so. Wise up."
I could not agree more. You can take your commie propaganda and stuff it Sir. Let your boss know I will boycott every advertiser on your show and your network. At least until you apologize to all freedom loving people everywhere and burn that shirt.
DHANI YOU LOOKED LIKE YOU HADE ALOT OF FUN IN CAMBODIA I LIKED THE SCHOOL OF DANCING..THE SPIDER WAS SO FUNNY!!LOL!!AND OF YOU OF COURSE AS ALWAYS LOOKING EXTRA SEXY!!! DIDNT LIKE THE SHIRT THOUGH.THE KIDS COULD REALLY DANCE. LESS CLOTHES MORE SKIN YOUR CHEST IS OMG!!! GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TRAVELS..TILL NEXT WEEK.
Hey Dhani,
I read what some of the people had to say, and I noticed the T- shirt also however i do not get caught up in things of this nature. BUT i do think that maybe you should apologize for this because it seems you have offened quit a few people with that shirt. I would not want to see you lose fans or your show because of a shirt and yes even though it's just a shirt,it stricking some nerves so address it do not ignore. Go to your youtube channel and say something, apologize, redeem yourself, something. You wanted everyone to follow you on all these devices, Twitter, facebook, myspace, even this page so use it to your advantage and make your fans that are upset feel better about what happened. You kinda owe it to them. Nobody has to follow you. I know you have humbleness inside you it's one of the reasons i like you. DON'T TAKE IT LIKELY DHANI. SOMETIMES IT'S IMPORTANT NOT TO BE QUIET AND JUST LET STUFF GO. Take care. CK
This has been my favorite episode thus far, simply because it was so raw and uncut. All the other countries you visited it seemed like all good times....learning the sport, hanging out with the locals, living up the night life, etc. But Cambodia did not take it easy on you and that's how real life is, it's not always easy. I've never been to Cambodia but I would not mind visiting there because I love meeting people who make the most of what they have and are still happy despite what others may think are less than optimal circumstances. I know far too many who have a lot and still complain yet and yet I see the smiles of the faces of the people in Cambodia or even here in the states that are happy to have just a little.
Dhani, what a great show and concept you have here! I am proud that you are representing America as you travel the globe in a respectful and compassionate manner. In a profession where most of your colleagues are more concerned with their Bentleys and hitting the club you instead are traveling the world and taking in the sights. It is refreshing to see a professional athlete who cares about others and other cultures. I admire you for that. Ignore the haters about the shirt because in the end its still a Tshirt. What you are doing and what you represent is far greater than $20 shit. I look forward to continue watching the show. Best of luck to you and keep seeing the world!...PS Larry Foote is gone so why dont you come sign with the Steelers and play for a real football team!:)
I love your show, BUT, I was sooo disappoitnted when I saw you wearing that Castro T-shirt. Do you know what it represents, well let me tell you....It represents a regime that does not allowed freedom, it represents a person that has killed thousonds of cubans and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. If you only knew the damage and the way that man has affected his country and sooo many families; you will think about it twice before wearing that shirt.
I first thought well he has someone that gives him what to wear but then I remember, you have lived in Miami, so you know about Cuba. What is your facination with Fidel? why don't you visit Cuba, but not as an american turist as a regular and see how bad it is.
I suggest you address the issue....
Good for you for mentioning this, Dahani, but I wish you'd have spoken this way to your show's editors. I spent 4 years going back and forth to Cambodia doing conflict resolution and peace work and love the country deeply. THe few scenes of you in PP showed a highly selective and sanitized view of the city -- it was NOT the PP I know and that you experienced. I fear that presenting such a "TV friendly" version (while it might attract a few tourists), will lead the world to further ignore the county's legitimate plight. I'd like to see more of the Dahani from this blog if you return to pp
Thank Dahani for focusing on the sport at hand and the good. My daughter who is 8 is Cambodian and living in SEA I grew to LOVE Cambodia very mush but nothing is black and white there..ever. Thank you so much for not showing the sex slavery part, the man at the hotel asking you if "you want a girl for the night?" I was so excited to see the show with Regan Srei and her friend Chantha who has that tight wirey core of the Khmer people.
I wish you'd be taken to Khmer Surin for Brilliant Amok Trei since bugs are now a delicacy learned from the Cambodian Holocaust in the 70's. Love your show, totally admire your personality and so appreciate your judgement free open ended view of travel...and not focusing on the food but sport....
Dhani, I am so glad that you displaying the characterists of what black men are really like in our culture instead of what is shown on normal tv stations...respectable, intelligent, positive, and eager to learn. It is so refreshing!
The Cambodia episode was great. The level of discipline and love that they have for their sport was amazing. Just when I thought that my workout at the gym was tough, this episode just blew that way out of the water! You are a real sport for hanging in through those tough workouts and you really gave it to your competitor in the ring.
One thing I really love about your show is that you really keep it real. You are not afraid of showing your fear (eating the spider, and feeding the chickens to the snake was hilarious) and your reaction is memorable.
Dahani, keep doin' what ya doin'! Continue to educate and shead a positive light on our culture with others around the world.
Okay....did I seriously spell your name wrong...Dhani
DHANI certainly does NOT go with the name Jones.....
Hi Dhani...
I just saw the Cambodia episode, and it left me intrigued. Primarily by your honest, open and sincere reactions/actions to your daily experiences. It made me wonder about what drives a man out of his comfortable surroundings to delve into the unknown like you do. Jump onto the internet & lo and behold -- I find out that you're a poet - WOW! Excellent! Read some of them, and enjoy the imagery of your message/voice. Lovely! Here's one for you (my work)
JOURNEY
Written by: CCHoneycomb – 3-19-2009
Journeys and dreams are made possible to those that dare open their eyes...
or those that reach higher than nigh.
Beyond cometh closer shouldeth thou seek...
and embrace the tangible clusters of fragrant bouquets.
Colors awash in watercolor hues, mixed in swirls of forming...
or simply indulge in the effervescence of mirth.
Vanquish thoughts of selfishness, and deny not the pleasures...
tis human requirement to dance forthwith...upon thine kaleidoscope.
Carpe Diem Dhani! Make it yours!
I have loved your show, but do not understand why you would wear a shirt that says Fidel Castro. Are you familiar with who that is? I am considering not watching any more and even going more public with the fact you would represent someone like him. Disappointing.
While reading through this long list of comments, I see some people are really hating you for the castro tshirt, some are too blinded by your mesmerizing smile, and some just think you are the coolest athlete ever.
But this is for the "comment leaving people" not you Dhani, sorry!
People you have to realize Dhani would not wear something like that castro shirt with out first thinking about it. He is a very intelligent, and educated man. I am positive he knew the possible implications of wearing that shirt on a show that is broadcasted probably worldwide now.
He has his reasons and I am sure getting feedback both positive and negative from you is part of it. You did take the time out from your day to read and post on this blog after all and well...I am sorry to say I bet he was counting on all of this.
BTW...I am NOT advocating him wearing that shirt in any way!!!
I am just trying to get you to understand the bigger picture.
Fourth Amendment
Gives us the right to free speech.
Including wearing of the offending TShirt.
Can't get into trouble for that unless he were to incite a riot...which he does on Twitter constantly when he posts those most excellent skimpy outfit pictures. lol
I was also intrigued by Dhani's wardrobe choices in the Cambodia episode (specifically the Castro shirt). The shirt is sold by "No Mas". Here's a link:
http://www.nomas-nyc.com/product_castro.html
The description of the baseball jersey reads "Dear Fidel, if you had developed a slider, would the Cuban people be better off today?"
I'm sure Dhani fully understands Cuba's political history.
Dhani, I am very pleased to read your blog. I have been to Cambodia numerous times and everytime I return to the U.S. one thing stays with me for ever, the smiles and joyfulness of the people. The people have hardly a thing but I never seen anyone angry or selfish unlike here. I am glad they made the same impression on you.Truly the land of a thousand smiles....
Dhani,
Without knowing who you were, I started watching the show and became an instant fan. It's even been my default on my facebook "Litza loves Dhani Jones". I loved watching your charisma, dedication to the variety of sports (and the training that went along with them), your witty and funny character, etc. When I watched the Cambodia episode, I was so disappointed with the Castro shirt. I am 33 years old and came to the US (Miami) when I was four years old. Yes, from Cuba. I can't begin to describe the feeling of holding you on such a high pedestal and then seeing you with that shirt on. It was very disturbing and disappointing. It's ok to wear a shirt that says, "Cuba" on it because it represents the Cuban people, their hardships, their ancestors, and their heritage, but wearing a Castro shirt is off limits. He is a communist who has killed so many innocent people. I was surprised and extremely glad (and proud) that others have already shared this same view on this blog! Do yourself a favor...burn that T!
Baby, just stick to a bow tie and a Budgy smuggler and this will all be much easier for everyone!
I'm available next season to act as wardrobe consultant. ;0)
I'm sorry Dhani but you LOST a big fan. I cannot respect a man who supports murderous regimes. I'm not Cuban but I'd feel the same had you worn a Hitler, Stalin, Trujillo, Mussolini, Diaz, Batista, KKK, Bin Laden, Pinochet, etc. T-shirt.
Watched your show for the first time. Love your attitude and your will to learn something new. Looking forwward to the next episode.
Watching YOU
Watching you is like watching poetry in motion.
You are breathtaking, while taking in deep breathes of different realities.
You tackle new states of being, being open and true.
A Renaissance MAN, It's been a long time since I've been someone's fan.
Your smile could warm the coldest of hearts.
Hot enough to be anyone's SEXUAL CHOCOLATE. Hehheeh!!!
You bring balance to Yin and Yang, making you the poster child for the definition of oxymoran.
You move through countries and continents wearing the bravest of hearts.
Trying on cultures with agonizing fits, and freed spirit.
You are a TRUE Warrior.
From my Heart to Yours.
God Bless, and Stay Blessed.
Mr. Jones! Love the show - your marvellous sprit and enthusiasm are infectious. But did you have to participate so gleefully in such a barbarous custom (feeding chicken to snake)? No need to torture a helpless being before getting your ass whupped!
BTW You knew that your choice of the "Castro" t-shirt would incite passions. Curious to hear where you stand on the Cuba divide.
The world needs more people like Dhani... Very touching blog
Dhani, my family and I have been huge fans of your show since it began. Your enthusiasm and unfeigned love of travel and new experiences is a joy to watch and makes us feel that we're traveling with you. However, I have to say that your Castro shirt was a huge disappointment. Why would you wear propaganda for a regime that murdered thousands and caused the misery of millions? Please educate yourself on this topic. I am sure that once you do, you will realize that you are above that.
The Travel Channel hit another homerun with this show. Dhani is an awesome host and there better be a season two!
Dhani...love the show. Guarantee you the most loyal cluster of your fans are U of M grads. I've watched every show...mostly to support your endeavor as a Michigan grad. I've been bummed that you haven't even given even a minimal shout out...like maybe a Michigan wristband at a minimum. Whatever...just know that your Wolverine brethren have been unimpressed by your lack of acknowledgment of your alma mater.
Dhani
Wow man, just discovered this and your praise for the Cambodian People touched me amigo. Uber Worthy stuff and thanks for showing that big jocks (I refuse to admit I am now just an old fat guy) like us can be articulate as well. Can't wait to watch more of the show.
Tommy Neumann
Dhani Where can i find that Castro shirt, think its kinda cool
I was growing to love the show and to really respect Dhani Jones until I saw him wearing a Fidel Castro shirt. Anyone that can support a dictator needs to take a deeper look in the mirror because there are major morality concerns there. Unless Dhani Jones speaks out against Castro, I won't be watching anymore episodes nor will I be watching Travel Channel for allowing him to wear that shirt.
Dhani, you can wear WHATEVER you want. Cuban's in the US are no different than the dictator Castro (thanks to the Cuban's in Miami, the Travel Channel cannot go to Cuba and see what the beautiful island has to offer). What more, is that Castro did MORE for the Cuban people than what they would like to admit. That is right; fighting the Capitalist monsters and ending the discrimination of blacks and indigenous people in Cuba that were treated so poorly.
Dhani, you're awesome! Keep doing what you're doing, and besides, you look great wearing anything! I love your show, and it is wonderful! Hopefully you'll be able to travel to Cuba one day. Peace!
Enjoy the show for what is is. Do not pay too much attention to his clothing
Dhani, i love your show...you are so funny and so humble...by the way the Fidel Castro tshirt its awesome...where can i find one????? :)
Awesome show! The coolest Travel Channel show yet. I am also looking for that awesome Castro tshirt from the NZ show. Where can we find one?
Rick in Miami and Jaz: It is a T-shirt for crying out loud and a show. BTW Cuba has much better health care reform, little to no homeless and virtually no crime against their peoples (i.e. robbing, stealing, drugs, etc...) and much better educational system and Fidel is a Monster??? What, did your family lose their money when Fidel transformed Cuba and you are still resentful? Many Cubans are grateful for what they have. They might not have Morgan autos but overwhelming majorities are happy people. It is not all about iPods and Morgans, etc… it is about family, quality of life, i.e Home, education, healthcare and having the basic necessities of life. Get a grip and stop being so critical and live a little. BTW the US leaders have an overwhelming plight to conquer other nations and kill their innocent and our own kids in a war with no winners. That’s right it was to liberate these countries of the WMD’s. Oh we did not find any but you would support these US leaders right who use our tax dollars for this nonsense when we have homeless, poor healthcare, drug usage, teen pregnancy, etc… Enjoy the show for what it is.
To all of those people who think Fidel Castro is cool and that the people in Cuba have such a great life you should check out the truth, coming direct from the island, written by an independent blogger named Yoani Sanchez... That will give you insight on the terror, fear, oppression, and overwhelming poverty on the island. I guess you think because the sun shines and there are rum and cigars it can't be so bad...Many on here including Dhani need a current events lesson.
I used to love the show and thought you were actually one of the few eloquent educated jocks that had some style.....I was watching the show weekly until you show up wearing a Fidel Castro t-shirt.
Being of Spanish grandparents who emigrated to Cuba I especially liked the Basque/ Jai Alai show.
But, you lost two viewers here for sure. My wife and I wont watch a show where the guy where's a shirt glorifying one of the worlds worst dictators, and to insult even more its got "Fidel 59" on the back celebrating the year communism took over(1959)....and still exists 50 years later.
At minimum you owe an on air apology......burn the shirt or something. I know that’s probably not "cool" TV, but look where trying to wear a "cool" T-shirt got you.
I liked the show and looked forward to watching it every monday night until the Thailand episode. I couldn't believe he would wear something like that and was in disbelief.
For those of you that think Dhani is educated and more enlightened than everyone else, this act of ignorance proves he is nothing more than a spoiled athlete. If he understood the horrors that Castro has brought on many Cuban families he would never wear that shirt.
Its reminds me of the hollywood kids that wear Che Guevera shirts thinking he was all about anti-government when in reality he was killing innocent people and living like a king in governmental palaces.
I won't watch another episode after seeing him wear that shirt. Do your research and talk to someone that was born in Cuba before speaking on what its like over there and the "good" that Castro has done.
Dhani, I watch your show every week, and saw you experience some extreme pain and confusion in Cambodia. I lived in Bangkok, Thailand for 2 years, and would like to see you Muy Thai fighting in the horrible heat of Thailand. I have been to some Muy Thai camps as well, and it is an *** kicker that is for sure. Also, you could go to Korea and train in Tae Kwon Doe. I also lived in Seoul for a year and well Koreans are very interesting people, and I think you would have a unique time there. Keep up the fun and enjoy your travels!
Dhani, as a huge Philadelphia sports fan, I appreciated your efforts on the grid iron for Eagles. When I caught your first show on the Travel Channel, I tuned in b/c you're an entertaining guy and the show is well done. However, I have to say, I've unfortunately lost all respect for you after seeing you sport that Fidel Castro t-shirt on a couple of episodes. Although you seem like a semi-intelligent guy, your affinity for such a murderous and vicious regime is alarming. You're either incredibly misguided or painfully ignorant. Why don't you just throw on a Adolf Hitler tee-shirt while you're at it??? I've discontinued my season pass to Dhani Tackles the Globe on my DVR and will not be watching your show anymore. Further, you need to apologize to the hundreds of thousands of Cuban Americans who you've likely offended. P.S. I would like to help pull you from the doldrums of complete ignominy by suggesting a book for you to read - which (I HOPE) will enlighten you regarding the true nature of Castro and his henchman, Che Guevara: EXPOSING THE REAL CHE GUEVARA AND THE USEFUL IDIOTS WHO IDOLIZE HIM written by Humberto Fontova. Good luck finding your way back to reality.
really like the show - i hope you comeback for next season - and to all who are complaining about Castro t-shirt(lighten up)
oh I forgot to mention to all of those who decided to quite watching your show over Castro shirt is this one question - When the Native American Indian which was slaughtered by the white settlers, did all you Cuban American quite watching and wearing shirts and hats that college and pro teams that use these Indiam emblems and mascots - or are you only concerned about Cuba - If you are concerned about Cuba then organize and go over there and over throw him, unless you are just ****
I should say that dhani-blog.travelchannel.com has lots of interesting information. Looks like the author did a good job. I will be coming back to dhani-blog.travelchannel.com for new information. Thank you.
Dhani I want to commend you on this brilliant show.
To to right-wing morons up above complaining about your awesome Castro T-shirt - get a life.
Fidel freed Cuba from being America's W#oreshoue where US companies owned 75 % of the land and the mafia ran the country (while 50 % of the people lived illiterate in shacks). I am sure that Dhani knows the REAL HISTORY and why Fidel is a hero to 90 % of the world (except dumb white cuban exiles in Miami who keep posting the same crap up above)
DHANI I love you man. Next season wear a Che Guevara shirt as well. Give em hell & Go Bengals !
Hey Brian if you think Castro is a hero to most of the world (90%) you should go live in Cuba. Just know, you can't use the internet from the island (only one of many rights removed from Cuban citizens). I wonder, what are they (government) hiding? Oh and I guess I am a dumb black Cuban in Miami. Find out what your hero did to Dr. Biscet. Ignorance looks bad on anyone.
I will be watching tonight to see it for myself. I'm sure it will be great. Sometimes i think you should have been a comedian, sometimes a wine taster =), sometimes in movies because the camera loves you
